Answer Checking (Digit Sums)
Verify any calculation in seconds using Navasesh.
Core Concepts
The Digit Sum (or Digital Root) is found by adding the digits of a number until you get a single digit.
Example: 12345 -> 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 -> 1+5 = 6.
The Rule of 9 (Navasesh)
• 9 is equivalent to 0 in Digit Sums.
• You can ignore 9s or digits that add up to 9.
• Example: 918 -> Ignore 9, 1+8=9 -> Ignore. DS is 0 (or 9).
How to Check Answers
Apply the operation to the Digit Sums!
A × B = C
Check: DS(A) × DS(B) = DS(C)
Solved Examples
Example 1: Check 23 × 12 = 276
• DS(23) = 2+3 = 5.
• DS(12) = 1+2 = 3.
• Multiply DS: 5 × 3 = 15 -> 1+5 = 6.
• DS(Answer): 2+7+6 = 15 -> 1+5 = 6.
• 6 matches 6. Answer is likely correct!
Example 2: Check 123 + 456 = 589
• DS(123) = 6.
• DS(456) = 15 -> 6.
• Add DS: 6 + 6 = 12 -> 3.
• DS(589) = 5+8+9 = 22 -> 4.
• 3 does not match 4. Answer is WRONG!
• (Correct answer is 579).
