Mental Addition Tricks
Left-to-Right Addition for speed.
Core Concepts
Most people learn to add from Right to Left (Ones first). But the brain reads numbers from Left to Right. In Vedic Math, we add the biggest place values first. This makes mental calculation much faster because you get the most important part of the answer immediately.
The Left-to-Right Method
- Break the numbers into Tens and Ones.
- Add the Tens together first.
- Add the Ones to that result.
